Ingredients
- 1 9″ pie crust, thawed
- 4 – 5 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 175 ml (¾ cup) cranberries (fresh or frozen), chopped
- 75 ml (1/3 cup) sugar
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) all-purpose flour
- 4 ml (¾ tsp.) cinnamon, ground
- 1 pinch table salt
Garnish
- 175 ml (¾ cup) rolled oats
- 30 ml (2 tablespoons) all-purpose flour
- 60 ml (¼ cup) sugar
- 5 ml (1 tsp.) ground cinnamon
- 2.5 ml (½ tsp.) vanilla extract
- 1 pinch table salt
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) non-hydrogenated margarine
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a bowl, combine apples, cranberries, sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Arrange mixture on pie crust.
- In another bowl, mix filling ingredients well with a fork. Sprinkle topping over apple mixture.
- Bake for 30 minutes at 400°F. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F and cover pie with aluminum foil. Bake for a further 20 – 25 minutes. Cool and serve.
