Ingredients

  • 1 9″ pie crust, thawed
  • 4 – 5 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 175 ml (¾ cup) cranberries (fresh or frozen), chopped
  • 75 ml (1/3 cup) sugar
  • 15 ml (1 tablespoon) all-purpose flour
  • 4 ml (¾ tsp.) cinnamon, ground
  • 1 pinch table salt

Garnish

  • 175 ml (¾ cup) rolled oats
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) all-purpose flour
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) sugar
  • 5 ml (1 tsp.) ground cinnamon
  • 2.5 ml (½ tsp.) vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch table salt
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) non-hydrogenated margarine

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. In a bowl, combine apples, cranberries, sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Arrange mixture on pie crust.
  3. In another bowl, mix filling ingredients well with a fork. Sprinkle topping over apple mixture.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes at 400°F. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F and cover pie with aluminum foil. Bake for a further 20 – 25 minutes. Cool and serve.
