The 2023 event is now over. See you in 2024 for another unique weekend with people who live with type 1 diabetes just like you! Registration will take place in the fall.
Event description
People living with type 1 diabetes face a daily struggle and can sometimes feel alone in their situation. The Rencontres du premier type is a unique opportunity! It’s an entire weekend dedicated to type 1 diabetes. Adults living with type 1 diabetes and their loved ones are invited to attend.
On the program: lectures by experts on topics related to diabetes management, workshops offered by healthcare professionals, sports activities, pharmaceutical company booths and much more! In addition to learning opportunities, participants have the chance to exchange ideas with people living the same reality as they do on a daily basis, all in a convivial and fun setting.
For a weekend, people living with type 1 diabetes are no different from the people around them. Everything is designed to make their lives easier: the number of carbohydrates in dishes is indicated at mealtimes, needle trays are placed in the rooms, breaks for measuring blood sugar levels are provided during sports activities, etc.
